Developed by ThirdWave, RWPM is a business process imrpovement technique used for 22 years to quickly hone in on the management, operational, and technical challenges facing any organization. It is a powerful, fast technique that works regardless of the industry or profession being examined. A typical RWPM session consists of the following:
- Map out existing high level functional / operational and user workflows.
- Identify existing technical / operational bottlenecks within the existing environment, where the introduction of technology would have a positive impact.
- Quantify the impact, redundant costs, time inefficiencies, delays, and/or poor customer service.
- Determine qualitative impacts.
The RWPM approach recognizes that opportunities are best identified by asking what are the biggest challenges faced by staff in carrying out their responsibilities and services, e.g. operational hurdles, business bottle necks, etc.
