City of Chula Vista Choses ThirdWave to Produce Information Technology Strategic Plan

The City of Chula Vista is located at the center of one of the richest cultural, economic and environmentally diverse zones in the United States. It is the second-largest City in San Diego County with a population of 276,000. It is also the seventh largest city in Southern California, and the fifteenth largest city in the state. Chula Vista has more than 52 square miles of coastal landscape, canyons, rolling hills, mountains, quality parks, and miles of trails. The City is a leader in conservation and renewable energy, has outstanding public schools, and has been named one of the top safest cities in the country.

The City of Chula is the 172nd city who has chosen ThirdWave to carry out its Information Technology Strategic Plan. ThirdWave will assist in articulating a vision for the effective use of technology to support and advance the work and resiliency of the City. Key components of the IT strategy and roadmap include:

  • End user outreach to City staff and community members

  • Focus groups with IT staff to assess IT operations and skillsets

  • Cyber security assessment

  • Management interviews to determine strategic initiatives in line with Council objectives

  • Rapid Workflow® workshops with stakeholders with business process improvement

 

ThirdWave will use the Rapid Workflow® Methodology, the only patented government strategic planning methodology in the U.S. to produce the 5 Year Strategic Plan and Roadmap.
