
$60,000,000 IT Strategic Plan Developed by ThirdWave Adopted by City of Long Beach

The City of Long Beach City Council unanimously approved a $60,000,000 TID 28 - IT Strategic Roadmap produced by ThirdWave Corp.
As the 7th largest city in the state, the 4-year plan represents the largest municipal IT Strategic Plan in California in recent years. (The next largest strategic plan was also produced by ThirdWave for the City of Fresno, the 5th largest city in California, a $44,000,000 5-year IT Strategic Roadmap in 2024.)
This innovative engagement, which focused on Digital Equity and used AI, was carried out in close collaboration with Lea D. Eriksen, Director / CIO and Ryan Kurtzman, Technology Partnerships Officer, under the direction of City Manager Tom Modica. A total of 271 potential benefits, consisting of more than 100 different types, were identified in the TID Focus Groups, Management Interviews, and Community Outreach workshops.
