Berkeley Retains ThirdWave for New Building & Land Use/Zoning Code Enforcement System Procurement
October 10, 2024
The City of Berkeley has once again picked ThirdWave as a trusted partner to assist in the replacement of the existing Accela system with a new Building & Land Use/Zoning Code Enforcement system. A testament to ThirdWave’s extraordinary performance, this is the 17th engagement our firm has carried out for the City of Berkeley in the last 8 years.
This project will employ the most effective IT requirements definition methodology in the US to develop technical and functional requirements to procure the new system: ThirdWave’s patented Rapid Workflow Process Modeling®, recognized as a best practice nationally.
The assessment of the Building Code Enforcement life cycle included the receipt of request from the public, routing, investigation, notice of violation and follow up, to citations and closure. The assessment of the Land Use Code Enforcement process included reporting for new cases, investigation, notices of violation, citation issuance, through to case closure.
The data generated in this engagement will be incorporated into a Request for Proposal, serving as Information Technology performance parameters and metrics by which new systems will be evaluated and selected by the City.
