City of Berkeley Health Department Teams with ThirdWave to Procure New Electronic Health Record System
October 10, 2024
The City of Berkeley has picked ThirdWave to assist in procuring a new Electronic Health Record System to enhance health services provided to Berkeley High students. A testament to ThirdWave’s past performance, this is the 18th engagement our firm has carried out for the City in the last 8 years.
This project will employ the most effective IT definition methodology in the US: ThirdWave’s patented Rapid Workflow Process Modeling®, custom tailored for public sector organizations. Technical specs for several critical health services will be articulated:
-
Front Desk Patient Input, First Aid, Reproductive & Sexual Health, Mental Health Services, Other Services: scheduled/unscheduled appointments and crisis walk-ins
-
First Aid Services: admit to Health Center, notify providers, provide services, administer medications, and finalize the chart
-
Public Health Practice: admit patient, lab work, charting, and completing the visit
-
Reproductive Sexual Health: new and returning patients
-
Mental Health: student referral, review and follow-up appointments, and health education
-
Back Office: Billing/reporting, process encounter and claim production reports, generate claim files and submit to Medi-Cal.
The data from this engagement will be inserted into a Request for Proposal as performance parameters and metrics by which EHR systems will be evaluated and selected by the City’s Health Department.
