ThirdWave & City of Pearland Collaborate to Produce Citywide IT Strategic Plan

Pearland, Texas. ThirdWave Corporation presented the final IT Strategic Plan and Implementation Roadmap (ITSP) to the Pearland City Council.

Located approximately 20 minutes from Houston, Pearland offers the lifestyle of a small town with easy access to Houston. 

​

The Vision of the ITSP is to adopt a comprehensive roadmap of proven and emerging Information Technologies in the most strategic, innovative, and cost-effective manner, making Pearland a premier place to live, work, and visit. The overriding intent is to enhance internal City operations while fostering extraordinary customer service delivery and resiliency.

In concluding the presentation/Council Q&A, and in response to ThirdWave President and CEO Roy Hernandez’ presentation, Councilmember Hernandez (no relationship) commented the following: “In my 5 years we’ve seen a lot of these plans come before us and some of them seemed kind of cookie cutter and some seemed super detailed. You have been the most comfortable in your responses. You have been so clear in how you’ve answered every question. I just wanted to say thank you.”

The 5-Year plan includes approximately 40 strategic initiatives, a proposed investment of $26,250,000, and the reinforcement of IT resources. The comprehensiveness of the ITSP was well received by city staff and management.  

 

“I’m just really happy that you are the guy that got this job because you’ve been really great, very clear. You’re not afraid to give us frank answers and feedback,” noted Councilmember Hernandez.
