ThirdWave to Refresh City of Sacramento Digital Strategic Plan
March 9, 2020
Sacramento, capital of the state of California, retained ThirdWave to refresh the Digital Strategic Plan (DSP) ThirdWave developed in 2013. This is the second refresh of the DSP; the previous update was done in 2016.
Five years into the successful implementation of the City’s DSP, the City has made substantial progress in implementing the Roadmap, which has enabled it become a leader in digital government. The City is now ready to chart its direction for the next 5 years.
The City of Sacramento has completed hundreds of technology initiatives since the original Strategy was published. These have included major infrastructure improvements, the deployment of Enterprise Resources Planning systems, and numerous department applications leveraging workflow automation and Smart City/IoT solutions. A number of non-technology initiative recommendations have been deployed, e.g., IT organization realignment, Help Desk tools, and IT service delivery enhancements to internal departments and community as well.
ThirdWave is proud to continue our 15-year relationship with the City of Sacramento as a trusted, long-term business partner. “No other firm has assisted the City of Sacramento architect the intelligent and innovative use of emerging Information Technologies as ThirdWave has done,” noted Roy Hernandez, ThirdWave President and CEO.
Successful engagements carried out for the City of Sacramento include the following:
2017 Mini Digital Strategic Plan / Rapid Workflow Business Process Modeling
2016 Digital Strategic Plan Refresh
2015 Digital Strategic Plan
2006 Web Governance Strategic Plan: Policies, Processes & Best Practices

Our firm is thrilled to be given the opportunity to perform, and continue a relationship which began years ago.
